We all know that tomorrow is not promised, but we continue to live as if we have all the time in the world. What if tomorrow was your last day? Would you continue to live life the same way? Probably not.
If tomorrow was your last day, would you look back with regret or would you feel blessed with the life you lived? Remember that everything in your life is a result of actions taken or a lack of actions taken. Are the excuses in your mind preventing you from taking action? How are you showing up?
Here are some steps to more fully embrace living in the moment:
- Make gratitude a daily practice. Spend five minutes a day reflecting on what you are grateful for in your life.
- Create a bucket list and make a plan to achieve those goals. Don’t wait until it is too late!
- Focus on the little things. Remember to smile or hold the door open for someone. Random acts of kindness go a long way to improve your daily happiness.
- Step outside your comfort zone. This is where true growth occurs! Don’t let negative emotions hold you back from becoming your best self.
With every moment, we have the power to decide what meaning we give to everything that happens to us. We truly shape our own destiny.
At the end of your life, you will want to look back and know you lived your life on purpose. Use these words to guide your path:
“Did I live? Did I love? Did I matter?” ~ Brendon Burchard
